About Dr. Vincent Codispoti

Dr. Vincent Codispoti is a board-certified Interventional Physiatrist specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Interventional Pain Management. He earned his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Anesthesia-Pain Management at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He currently serves as an Associate Physician and Interventional Physiatrist at Orthopedic Associates of Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Codispoti served as a United States Army Active Duty Physician for eight years, attaining the rank of Major before receiving an Honorable Discharge in June 2013. During his service, he was deployed to Iraq as a Battalion Surgeon with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, and held numerous leadership positions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center — including Associate Residency Program Director and Director of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He also served as Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Dr. Codispoti has contributed to the peer-reviewed medical literature on topics including Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and care of the combat amputee, and has delivered invited lectures at national conferences on electrodiagnostic medicine and combat rehabilitation. He is the recipient of multiple military honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal and Iraq Campaign Medal, as well as several academic and teaching awards. He is an active member of professional societies including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the International Spine Intervention Society.
